The best way to handle all boards other than the query board is to set your
page options to "ALLOW POSTS ONLY BY ME". This is done through the
GenConnect signup form. Basically the board becomes a read-only page.
The downside of this is that you are the sole contributor -- so to speak --
and folks have to send you their information. But it beats having to go to
a bio or obit board every day to remove misposted queries.
I have not done this with all my sites yet -- I tried to post instructions
on how to use a GC board in Somerset - but folks just won't read the page.
I have every GC board available for my Somerset site and also for Fayette
county. It is a real pain in the backside to watch over them. In Fulton
county, I chose just to have a query board. If I get other types of
information -- I may request another type -and I will certainly set the
board so only I can post to it.
I like Larry's idea, too.
Another idea is to have a volunteer maintain each board. I have one person
who cares for my obit board in Somerset -- he has the password is gets the
obits email. He is really good about keeping the board clean.
