As a member of the "older crowd (determind, in this case, by having my third
pair of bifocals) I would also like to point out that background itself, not
just color, can be a problem. I was in a site in another state that was almost
impossible to read because of the texture of the background.

I've had to change my font so many times - and what I have problems with is
color and background color- Perhaps a slightly bigger font and bolded would
