In case some of you may not be on the BBS mail list......
The URL for your BBS Query and other baords has changed. Check it out.
Also Carol Hepburn posted an item to rootshelp that is appropriate for
here.
27 counties are now signed up for this system.
Here is Carol's message......
I use CCHelper to index my queries and to index bible, marriage, estate,
census, cemetery, and obituary data. I like it - and it works well for
me. All my data forms (except for queries) are mailmerge and I format
the output to be imported into CCHelper.
I do not use Surname Helper.
I do use GenConnect (formerly the KY System) for the posting of my
Somerset and York County, PA queries. I receive the queries via email
preformatted for cchelper. I like GenConnect because I don't have to do
anything with the queries right away -- my visitors get to automatically
post a query or respond to another one without my intervention. At my
convenience I import them into CCHelper. GenConnect now allows cc's to
create one large import file for CCHelper - which is wonderful. All the
queries posted to the board can be formatted and imported into the
database program (no more cutting and pasting - YES!!). It also allows
you to create a surnames page - which is really nice.
I like to use both of these - it is more work for me but I have very
active sites and my users expect alot of bells and whistles - so I give
them the best options for finding their surnames on my site :o)
