I did forget one very important thing...
I am pretty sure that most if not ALL of the PA CC's have gone above
and beyond thier call of duty... I myself make regular trips to the
library to look up obituaries, marriage and birth announcements and so
on... But I am going to use Tammy Lamb as an example on this one. She
may not remember, but not long ago, I was trying to help a friend from
the Czech Republic find a relative in Tammy's County... when i got to
the County site... well I was astounded at the information, and though I
did not find the information I needed, i did notice that Luzerne County
had an IRC chat! Well thats great Ithought to myself... maybe someone
there could help me... and when I got there... I was blown away at how
one county CC devoted so much to the research of the county! She was a
wonderful help to me, looking in old phone books, looking over her
information... all right then, not a week later. She has really made
herself available to those who needed her. I commend such a wonderful
job. I know there are many many more CC's that do this sort of thing...
and I think we ALL deserve a big pat on the back. Now having said
that... here is something I was thinking about. If so many people are
being immaginative and creative... doing far more than that which is
expected. Would it be wrong to think that if some are forced to abide
by preset laws, that they may stop working so hard, and begin doing ONLY
what is expected? That sort of worries me... I personally like the help
I have been given, and never expected. Thank you all very much, and
keep doing what your doing. I am happy to be associated with such a
lively, wise group of people... you have all taught me quite a bit.
Appreciatively,
Mary
