I've been naively assuming that strategy-l really was just a list for
friends of Joanne's son to discuss chess strategy as she has claimed. If I
understand you correctly, that's not the case. I'm assuming here that they
didn't subscribed you there for the purpose of discussing chess strategy.
If, in fact, you happen to be a friend of her son and happen to have an
interest in chess strategy, sorry for the mistaken assumptions. <g>
If you don't mind, could you tell us what you think the purpose of the list
may be? Why do you think it's been repeated asserted that it's just a
private list for friends of her son to discuss chess strategy? If we are
being deceived about the nature of this closed list, do you think we should
be concerned about what's being discussed on it?
Many thanks for your information. It certainly puts a new perspective on
some other issues.

Yes, when Joanne and Anthony were setting up their server several months
ago, they subscribed me to a few lists. That was one of them. I was
unsubscribed without a hitch almost as soon as I got subscribed....
