It has been on my mind for some time, so I want to take advantage of the
"quiet" here on PAGEN-L and PAGenWeb in general, to put forth the request
for nominations or volunteers for Assistant State Coordinator. I have a
couple of you in mind, but won't name any names as it would be better that
any potential candidate came forward on their own, and since I don't know
what pressures some of you might have in your offline worlds.
I see it as coming from two points of view. Mine, since this is a person
with whom I will have to work closely and on a regular basis. And yours,
since an ASC must in turn be able to work with all the CC's of PAGenWeb.
I must warn any potential volunteers that this is a task that will require
some time above and beyond any CC work you might be doing, though knowing
how much work some of you put into your pages, it may be more for some and
less for others.
We may be able to do this without a vote, as I am hoping that this message
will stimulate discussion on the topic. I believe we will logically be
able to narrow our choices to the right candidate(s). And we could
potentially end up with more than one ASC as well.
67 counties is a lot to manage. I envy Delaware (3).
I'm looking to try to take PAGenWeb to the next level. And this will
require some extra work on everyone's part. But I want to make sure that
we treat everyone equally and fairly, so that no one is asked to do
anything that they can't fit into their volunteer time. Managing a
volunteer organization can be difficult, but it is amazing what you get
when everything comes together.
So, let me hear your thought on this, and we'll find some suckers, oops!
I mean candidates for Assistant State Coordinator.
