Can somebody clarify parliamentary procedure?
I'll try....
1. In order to have by-laws, does one first need to be organized or
is
it the other way around?
The former.
2. In order to elect officers, must there be by-laws in effect?
Yep.
3. In order to have an election officers, should there first be an
orginization?
Yep.
4. If you have an organization without by-laws, who determines how
and
when officers are elected, and who is eligible to hold office?
Good question.
5. How have we survived and been so prosperous without these by-laws?
Some would say pure luck. Many, who feel as I do, will say it's because
we've been left alone to do what we want to do and do best: provide an
outstanding resource for on-line genealogy without somebody giving us a
trough full of slop to deal with.
Anybody getting the drift?
Got it long ago -- it's great to see a "fresh voice" taking a stand on the
subject.
And we all thought the 1996 presidential campaign was bad.
Teehee -- thanks!
