It is not too late to put GenExpo98 "Preserving Our Heritage" Workshop on
your calendar for this Saturday, Oct. 17, 1998. Hosted by the Cumberland
Trail Genealogical Society it will be held at Horizon Hall of the Belmont
Technical College just off exit #213 of I-70 which is about an hour from
Pittsburgh.
The Vendor and society exhibits will be open from 9:30 a.m. until 5:30
p.m. and is free to browse!
The lectures begin at 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
and you have a choice of 4 or 5 lectures in any one time period for the
registration fee of $25. The topics include newspapers, Ohio Vital
Records, The underground Railroad, Using the Ohio GenWeb project, How to
Organize your Research, Introductory Genealogy, Using Family Tree Maker,
Tombstone Preservation and Restoration, The Story of Andersonville
Prison, Locating and Using Military Records, Intermediate Genealogy,
Resources found on CD-ROMs, Tombstone Rubbings, Storytelling, Passenger
Lists, Pennsylvania Vital Records, Multimedia Genealogy, Photography and
Genealogy, Palatines, Internet, Scanner for Genealogy, Using the LDS
Family History Center.
If you do make it, look me up. I will be around as a speaker and around
the vendor's hall.
