Several of the people on the State Coordinators' mailing list are using
that forum to try to manipulate the Advisory Board that WE, the project
volunteers, elected the bulk of to their positions. Remember, we had no
say in the State Coordinators' representatives on the Board. Now they are
trying to do some really shady things. I understand they are actually
voting on this issue on their list! What gall!
I didn't vote for the by-laws, but the majority of my peers did. So, I
respect their decision. it doesn't matter what the "intent" was -- what
matters is that the by-laws were adopted and have to be interpreted on
their face. We have no method in this "organization" for arbitrating
intent, equity, or anything else that is based on opinion or interpretation.
Until they get that point, they're going to continue screwing around and
causing problems!
Gary appears to be following his usual course of staying out of the frey.
Thanks, Gary. It makes me very proud, once again, to be a part of the
PENNSYLVANIA project.
We can't voice our opinions on the other states' lists unless we're members
of those states' projects. But, we can be informed of things that are
happening to undermine the project -- in this case, by second-guessing the
volunteers who voiced their opinions by adopting the by-laws.
==================Begin forwarded message====================
Hello to all,
I have chosen to write to this list today in the hopes of finding a way,
through the state coordinators, to focus on the problem at hand. The
problem I am addressing is that at the state level, I no longer have
time to spend on my day to day responsiblities because of the
controversy at the National level. This is unquestionably hurting the
project.
At this point I propose that we all ask ourselves if Nancy's
interpretation of the day to day operations of the project is or is not
in line with the intent of the by-laws. Further, I propose that we ask
ourselves if Don's interpretation that the Advisory Board is the
governing body is or is not in line with the intent of the by-laws.
In short, was it intended that the NC would be empowered to ignore the
resolutions of the Board?
My answer to that question is NO.
I respectfully request that each state coordinator, after reflection,
simply answer YES or NO. The results of this unofficial poll will send
a clear message to the NC and the Board. Please limit your response to
Yes or No.
Thank you for "listening."
