Hi Mark,
I'm not a descendent of the Holliday family, but here is some
information on another Holliday family.
The Pioneers of Mifflin Co. printed by the Historical Society
Samuel Holliday settled in Oliver twp. (McVeytown) in 1763. He came
from Peters twp. (now Franklin co) His father was John Holliday, who
died in Peters twp. in 1770. The children of John Sr.: William, Samuel,
John, Adam, Joseph, Mary. Frances, Nancy (Bratton). The Hollidays lived
in Lancaster co before going to the Conococheague Settlement (Peters
twp). Samuel Holliday operated the first grist mill in Mifflin County,
he had a saw mill in operation as early as 1766. He was a captain in
the revolution, the people forted at his house in 1781. When he died he
left a widow Sarah, and children John, James, Adam, Michael, Samuel,
Rebecca (Bratton), Jane (Provines).
His descendents moved into Huntingdon county which later became
Huntingdon and Blair. (Hollidaysburg).
Hope this is of help.

Dear Fellow Searchers,
I am new to this list and never posted a message here before. I am in
search of any Hollidays (no matter the spelling) or descendents of a Holliday
that are living or dead. The Hollidays That I have been researching are from
the southwest corner of PA(somerset county). Unfortunately nobody has ever
made a connection to the Franklin county and Erie County Hollidays, leaving me
to conclude that we are NOT related. If anyone has anything on
Holliday/Holiday/Hollada's please contact me.
Thank you,
Mark
