The following is part of a series of a communications between members of a
list I belong to. I think the idea is very good. Not only that, there
must be other organizations besides the scouts willing to do such jobs and
maybe even catalogue the headstones in old cemeteries. Heaven knows, Mr.
Probert at the Vine Street Cemetery in Hazleton might be able to use some
help. Read on.
Just this past summer, I was asked to be a project director for a young man
working toward his Eagle Scout Badge. His project was to clean up an old
forgotten Methodist Cemetery in Sunville, Venango Co., Pa. With the help of
his family, other scouts and another researcher (plus some help from me).
He
completed the task. You are right. The scouts can be an answer to the
clean
up of many old cemeteries. I hope someone pushes this forward. Harry
