Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Oops! Sure did miss that!
Thanks Ed for pointing it out.

I updated the Potter Co., PA web site.
Dan
Ok I am not one to Bi*** or gett excited abou t links but in this
instance I need some
advise. I checked ALHN's PA page and found the PA- Schuylkill Archives
was
inked to my Census page linked to as well as one peice of the Schuylkill
Archives
The reason I'm perturbed is I wasn't asked or notified - now do I have
any
recourse?

Hi Vi,
As it turns out in this case. The names were posted to counties where she found the
same or similar ones and is a pretty valid query, IMO....
The original post did not mention the name of any location other than Philadelphia,
which looked strange.... She is a newbie and is updating the ones already posted....

What is a cross poster? It appears to me to be a person who wants their
names put in the surnames and does not how to do it correctly. Do you
have the email address?

Hi everyone,
The following is from the State Coordinator from Michigan. I had sent a "hi
I'm here" message to the State Coordinator mailing list. This is clipped
out of her response to me.
"I need to tell you that some of the local genealogy people here
in mid-Michigan cannot praise the PAGenWeb county sites and volunteers
enough."
I guess we're doin good!

How do you all deal with queries from adoptees looking for biological
parents or the other way around? My gut reaction is that they aren't
appropriate posts on a genealogy page. There must be a more appropriate
forum for queries of that nature. I would like to delete them from my
boards but be able to refer the poster to a different -- and better --
site. Right or wrong???
