Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

This Oxfordshire list at RootsWeb was born at the end of October 1997,
and it's now 22 years and 4 months old. I took it on in early November
Not only has there been lots of genealogy discussed, and problems
solved, but many friendships made worldwide, that continue now, more
than two decades later.

"next page" link at the bottom of each page usually leads to more posts.
Browsing the first few weeks and months, it's interesting to see names
of subscribers posting who are still active on the list and within
Oxfordshire Family History Society.
It's been an exciting privilege to have been list admin for the list.
The list is being shut down imminently by Ancestry, along with all the
other RootsWeb lists.

Most other UK county lists have also transferred to groups.io.
The best way to find a new group for an area or topic is to use the
facility at groups.io to search for a group, using the area or topic
name and the word RootsWeb. There's been a convention amongst the
admins to use a phrase like "formerly at RootsWeb" in the list descriptions.
I hope to see lively participation on the new Oxfordshire group, and bid
