Everyone subscribed to this list who is interested in the future

national level of the project. There is evidently a serious power struggle
occurring between the newly elected National Coordinator, Nancy Trice, and
the majority of the newly elected National Advisory Board.
I would urge, in the strongest terms, that anyone who cares about the
future of the Project should subscribe to USGENWEB-ALL-L(a)rootsweb.com and
become acquainted with the issues that are being discussed there.
Also, take a look at a web page published by the Southeast/Mid Atlantic
Board Representatives at

So what else is new? I would encourage anyone who cares, to subscribe to
the mailing list. I do not, but I used to for about two years. I finally
unsubscribed in disgust because of the constant flame wars and large volume
of mail. I decided to let the state coordinator inform me if anything of
true importance occured on the USGenWeb list.
The power struggles have been a feature of the national level people from
the beginning. That's what you get when you have a large group of people
who try to work on the same project as a loose confederation of individuals
and there is no one in charge. Eventually some kind of authority structure
must be worked out or everything disintegrates and the process is apt to be
a little ugly.
