Case in point: Charles, since you've raised the questions (and only
because you've raised them is this relevant; do not interpret this
to be anything other than an example), remember when you had several
changes to your server in 1996/1997 when (now)
raex.com was tweaking
their domain name? All who had URLs pointing to Jackson, Vinton and
Gallia Cos needed to change their pointing URLs *every* time those
server issues changed, and then _once again_ when you migrated
to RW.
I don't want to create any long discussion here. The instantaneous
change
of the site immediately after your election raised a number of questions in
my mind as to what was going on. I accept your explanation and I am sorry
you couldn't work out your problem with Rootsweb.
Thanks for dragging my problems of two years ago into this as an example,
but you just made my point. I moved my pages to Rootsweb to get the long
term stability that was lacking in a small regional ISP. Anyone who may
take over one of my counties in the future can simply continue to update
the site on Rootsweb. In addition, Imperium/Raex has a 100 MB per month
transfer limit on it's web sites. I exceeded that within two months of
creating the county sites. Rather than paying them an extra $10 per month
per 100 MB, I would much prefer to donate some money to Rootsweb (and I do).
