Terri,
When an email address is no longer valid, I try to search for a new
address. This is usually ubsuccessful because I usually find the old
one. I have thought about posting to roots-L but thought that might be
carrying it too far. What do you think? I am inclined to just delete
the surname or query.
I've heard a few people tell me about how an old query has given them
a breakthrough. In these cases they were not able to contact the
person who submitted the query, but there was enough clues
in the query that it led them to the breakthrough. So I can see
deleting a surname registration, but if the query has got any
information in it at all it might be useful to someone and could be
worth keeping.
