Sandy, any perspective on this? l really agree with Chyrl's points and Bill
seemed to have the same views. Have not heard from anyone else. Are you
comfortable with me proceeding -- at the appropriate time -- with naming my
helper as an Assistant CC? Dave

Dave,
To be honest I don't think there is a protocol when it comes to ACCs. If
you look at several of the other State's some have ACC's but there are no
by-laws associated with them and/or their duties, responsibilities and/or
eligibilities within the USGenWeb or State network. MS has in their
bylaws that 1 ACC per county is allowed, but past that there are no rules.
IMO I really think its up to you, if you want to appoint the individual
into an ACC position and place their name and title on your web site.
That should be your prerogative to do so because there are no rules
Nationally or State that says you cannot do so. I don't think in your
statement you are wanting them to have voting rights. Just assist you in
the additions to the site and support you with incoming questions from
viewers. I may be speaking out of line, but I really don't think any one
with OH would have problem with it either. I certainly wouldn't.
If you want them to have voting rights then I think your into some sort of
protocol then. I am not exactly sure how that works, and I believe that
it was an issue still up in discussion at the National Level as whether
they shared 1 vote with the CC, which counts as 1/2 pt CC & 1/2 pt ACC. I
am not sure if that was ever decided. I am sure Sandy would know more
about that.

Thank you Chyrl. Your situation is very much the same as mine for
Hancock
Cty. My helper person has only been assisting for about a month. She
isn't
looking for any sort of recognition but I'm sure would appreciate being
more
"officially" connected with the effort. Making her a co-coordinator
seems
to be too much too fast at this point although that could be possible
longer
term. But then that is my question. What **is** the protocol for
appointing a co-coordinator? What is the protocol for appointing an
assistant coordinator?
