This is NOT an item for discussion at this time.
The motion currently being voted upon contains two elements: That OHGenWeb
meetings shall take place on this list, AND that "These bylaws may only be
amended by a vote of the OHGenWeb Project in which a 2/3 majority of the
legal votes cast are in favor."
A "Yes" vote on the motion leaves OHGenWeb open to the possibility of a
minority being able to out-vote the wishes of the majority of the CCs: If
we had 100 CCs who all voted, and 65 CCs voted "Yes" for something and 35
voted "No" the wants of the majority of the CCs would be denied because the
2/3 majority rule was not met.
If there is anyone who voted "Yes" but did not clearly understand the
implications of voting for the 2/3 majority rule, please let me know in a
*private* message because I certainly wouldn't want to be accused of trying
to "disrupt the vote proceedings with messages of discussion."
