There is nothing in the headlines that state that Ancestry bought ProQuest.
ProQuest is the company who owns Heritage Quest Online. It is very possible
that the Library's contract ran out with Heritage and they decided to go with
Ancestry rather than with Heritage Quest. The Library's have to pay for that
service, so maybe this is something they cut from their budget. But I know that
Ancestry does not own Heritage Quest. Well, not yet.

I just went to the Columbus Metropolitan Library pages, they have changed to
a new website layout and management. It appears that
Ancestry.com is now the
owner of Heritage Quest online census and not allowing free access?
Does anyone know about this change?
I was unable to access Heritage Quest with my library number for online usage
through Columbus Metropolitan Library Electronic Resources. I sent the
librarian a note to see what has happened.
What a shame, I used those census records on a daily basis.

Subject: Heritage Quest no longer available
I am an Ohio resident, but the Heritage Quest page is no longer available
on your
web site. Whe I click on the heritage quest link I get the columbus
metropolitan library. The message says that the page is no longer available. It
has been archived.
