New York, Nebraska have also recommended holding off voting for a few
days.

In light of my comments yesterday regarding this year's election
procedures, please note the following from our colleague, Nate Zipfel,

Hi all,
It took me all of 1 minute to view the source code for the page to
locate the text file that the votes are actually being written to and to
then be able to see the votes that have already been caste. This is
unacceptable.
This should not be happening this way.

Could someone, *anyone*, explain to me where the security of this
election ballot is? I'm seeing that the votes being posted to this
URL above are being emailed to the EC members.
Is there any accountability in place? What happens if that mail gets
lost, "misdirected" <cough>, or other?
It has been mentioned that the vote cast by the participant is sent to
the participant as verification. Who's to say that that vote is not then
"misplaced" (through negligence, desire, direction, other) and not added
to the appropriate tally, once the participant has been informed that
their vote "has been recorded"?
This seems to be going WAY past absurd. If anyone can enlighten me, I
surely would appreciate the information.
Thanks.
Allen

My recommendation would be to wait to cast your ballot until such time
as the issues surrounding the procedures are fixed. The election period
does run through 23:59 CDT, 31 Jul 2000, so there is plenty of time to
cast one's opinion.
Thanks!
