Hi All,
I belong to a "computer-support" group mail list here in Norwalk. This
link came through the list and I thought you might be interested. Very
interesting site.

Hello Friends,
I've found a wonderful site that dispays satellite aerial photos. Go to
this site and type in a nearby city in the format of <Norwalk, Ohio>. I've
been using the little box at the top but the other ones work too. Then
click on an aerial image - there may be a couple of them. Once it loads,
you can pan and zoom right to your street/house. Make sure you are viewing
a "large" photo. Zoom in only one step at a time. It is very easy to get
lost here.
This is how I print out a decent photo. The short story is, I do a screen
capture by using Alt-PrtScrn.
But first I get rid of clutter at the top and bottom of the monitor screen.
I'm a Netscape user, so I go to View/Show and uncheck the toobars. Then
go to Start/Setting/Taskbar..... , and check Auto Hide. This hides the
system tray (until you stick the cursor to the lower edge of the screen).
Now center up the image, and do the Alt-PrtScrn. Now open up your favorite
photo editor and paste it in. Give it a tetch of sharpening, and a smidge
of extra contrast. Do a Cntl P to bring up your print menu. In properties
select landscape. I have been using HP's glossy inkjet Photopaper (about
$1.00/page), and the results have been outstanding. You may have to poke
around the print menu to find paper type, dpi, black/white, etc. The
Window' Paint program will work too, but doesn't allow any enhancement.
Enhancement isn't really needed.

Their image is of the B/W infrared type. Water is generally black in
color. One can often see buried tiles, or any type of stressed foliage.
Metal roofs seem to reflect highly and come out white (but this depends).
Check it out and have some fun.
That's all for now. This is better than talking about viruses, I'm sure.
