And then I get this and it reminds me why I do this!
Forget the nay-sayers and remember that this is what we do it for!

A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable but more useful than
a life spent doing nothing.

Subject: Fayette County, OH Research
Hi! My name is Janie Martin Whitty of Eustis, Lake Co.,FL (near
Orlando). Our ancestors (primarily Martins and Smiths) were mostly
from Fayette County, OH and Clark County, OH and we very much appreciate
the work you and your fellow researchers have provided on the USgenweb
page for Fayette County. Thank you! I think your "creative" talents
bring a warm county feeling to visitors like myself.
Please add the family names I am researching on your Surname/Researchers
List:
Jonanthan & Deborah (McLaughlin) Martin
John M. and Mary (Barnhart) Martin
James B. and Anna (Smith) Martin
Mathias and Christena (Myers) Smith
Milan and Mahala (Armstrong) Smith
John M. and Sophronia Smith
We possess many fine photos and family bibles (recently restored) of the
Martins of Fayette County (Bookwalter). The Bibles have names and dates
of marriages, deaths and children of the Martins listed above. We also
have much information on the Smiths back to Mathias, thanks to extensive
research by one of our Smith cousins who began a Smith Family tree in the
1960's. We also have an interesting biography of Milan L. Smith (which
includes his father, Mathias) prepared in 1964, taken from page 338 of
the Portrait and Biographical Record, Fayette, Pickaway and Madison
Counties, Ohio (Chapman Bros., Chicago, Sept. 1892) which was prepared by
Wm. Hugh Smith (deceased).
We would welcome any information on these ancestors and would be happy to
share any information we might have of interest to others. Other names
we recognized were Armstrong (Mahala) who married a Martin; and Fancher
(Sarah Catherine) who married a Smith.
