Perhaps the "researcher" needs a gentle reminder that all County
Coordinators are volunteers - AND that any and all offers to assist with the
maintenance and upkeep for the site are ALWAYS most welcomed. This
"researcher" might have better served our mission if he/she had simply
gathered the information and presented it to the CC for incorporation into
the site. Wow - imagine that, an act of kindness rather that one that
stinks of selfish venom.
I am sorry if my words are strong. I have little tolerance these days for
useless, misappropriated anger. The streets right outside my door bleed it
everyday. We are doing good here - we are volunteering our time and our
resources - this is not subject to criticism in my book. If we see
something that could be improved, then we individually should make the
effort to see it through.
Most sincerely,
Katie McClellan-Ross
County Coordinator, Cuyahoga County

Subject: OHGenWeb Mail: An Item to Ponder
Howdy folks:
I received the email below today, and thought I'd pass it on simply as
a point to ponder.

I am greatly disturbed that people are adopting these counties and not
contributing to the information provided on the pages.
What good is a person to a county if they don't live in or can research
in that county? Waiting for information from other people will not get
the information on the pages!
I went to the Historical Society in Columbus, Ohio today and found a
listing of over 80 people who died in the "worst coal mine disaster in
Ohio" yet this information is not on the [OHGW COUNTY] County page where
it should be. Why????????????
Either get people who are responsbile for putting information about the
county on the page or get rid of them!!!!

I've already addressed this researcher's items, but I thought you'd like
to share your insights (if any) on what you find here with our OHGW
colleagues.
