Osiyo Buckeye OHGW,
FYI, so there are behind the scenes talking and for reasons explained in
the post quoted below, I sent this letter to the USGENWEB-DISCUSS
<
http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/USGENWEB-DISCUSS/> list today
[emphisis added here].

Osiyo,
When serving on the AB a few years ago my words in support of "fair
play" and against such things as "kangaroo courts" etc fell on deaf ears
with my colleagues serving at that time. The goals of grabbing power
and forcing a State Coordinator out of two of state positions he held
was accomplished. All I can say that it wasn't on my "watch". However,
that was small consolation -- it happened is the point. At that time
the rules of the AB/NC were followed and everything was behind closed
doors. Agreed, anything of a personal nature should be behind closed
doors, but not the fact that an illicit function was going on behind
those doors. I should have been far more vocal in public than I was.
/Having just finished reading the attempts at character assassination in
the Archived Discuss List "threaded" posts entitled "Sandra Quinn"
similar feelings are welling inside me. The dealings between the SC of
Ohio and the CC in question was and is a matter between OHGenWeb, its
members and the participants. There may be some inexperience in
volunteer dynamics and the leadership demonstrated, but the whole of the
CCs of that state are not inexperienced by any means. Ohio HAS NO power
base. And, after some months of getting to know each other, the
organization has settled down to provide assistance to clients who come
to us for help. The Leader in Ohio is the SC who has more than been our
cheerleader in example and word. Mistakes under such circumstances can
be corrected easily and efficiently. /
In that thread, no less than four names were character assassinated.
All of the above detracts from concentration on helping clients. As
stated in other places, our goals should be to help CC/LCs help clients.
Wado,
Bill Oliver
