Arne,
I haven't a clue on this but I volunteer for the Family History Center
Library here in Fairborn. When we are stuck on a piece of documentation we
have called the library in Salt Lake and asked for help. The volunteer
staff is always helpful.

Subject: [OHGW] Early Ohio Census Records
I'm not sure if this is considered the proper forum for this
question and
apologize if I am going "off topic".
I am hoping one of you might be able to help me out with some additional
background information on the following which is available on line and in
print.
-----------------------------
Source Information:
Jackson, Ronald V., Accelerated Indexing Systems, comp. Ohio Census,
1790-1890. [database on-line] Provo, UT:
Ancestry.com, 1999-. Compiled and
digitized by Mr. Jackson and AIS from microfilmed schedules of the U.S.
Federal Decennial Census, territorial/state censuses, and/or census
substitutes.
-----------------------------
This appears to index Ohio/Northwest Territory data for years 1798, 1799,
1800, 1803, 1804, 1806, 1807, 1808, 1809 and 1810.
In response to some questions that I've received, I'd like to add a
write-up
regarding these records to our county GenWeb site.
It was my understanding that the 1800 and 1810 census records for Ohio/NW
Territory have been lost and that the state did not do any actual state
census enumerations. I'm guessing that the database cited above was based
on "census substitutes" such as early tax records but don't know that for
sure.
I would appreciate any additional information on this that you might want
to
share. I'd also be interested in knowing if any microfilm records of the
AIS sources are available anywhere.
Thanks in advance for your help.
