No Problem here it is again!
I have now heard from over half of the county coordinators who voted in
the last election, Yeah! Thanks everybody!
I feel this now represents the majority concensus, /we will not be
holding a vote on whether or not to make unified websites./
I wanted you all to have a chance to read and give your reaction to the
particular email I received from X.X.
/I personally was offended by his email to me saying we needed to
consult a professional librarian to know what a good table of contents
for OHGenWeb would be/.
I think we do know from our own experiences within GenWeb what we want
to showcase on our county websites. / I think we all realize our sites
need to be easily searchable and read. /
I love creativity, diversity, and all that GenWeb has to offer researchers.
/I do think we need to follow our National Guidelines for CC's/, the
link is on our OHGenWeb index page. Other than that, individuality is a
great thing!
I appreciate what Maggie said also, when people have small bits of
information to put online, the archives was designed for that and is a
great resource that is easily searchable. Don't forget to see if the
archives have anything you wish to link to for your county.
I was looking at the special projects, and there is so much wonderful
additional info for researchers there!
/I am so thankful for each and everyone of you out there helping keep
this project going/.
I know I mentioned a quarterly award, but after careful deliberation I
thought about how long it might take to get a site award to deserving
counties. I decided a better way to do this was to let everyone receive
the award to display on their website immediately. How? You submit your
county for the award when you feel it is ready for review. I am
leaving it up to each of you to submit your county for the award when
and if you wish to apply for it. The example trophy is linked to on
the OHGenWeb index. I made a trophy gif which I will put your counties
name on and also the year.
/Some have expressed anxiety over what I as a new SC will require of the
CC/. /Please rest assured that I only wish to see us continue to grow
in the project./
_The only agenda I have for you my OHGenWeb CC's during my term as SC is
as follows:_
1. we all follow the USGenWeb CC guidelines for our websites;
2. for all of us to make sure we have current up to date working links,
especially if we linked our sites to off site webpages;
3.t our email addresses are up to date and we are all present and
accounted for (all 88 counties);
4. and we have our current year displayed on our index page.
Over half of our 88 counties have already come forward with the date
changes. I am very excited about that! Thank you!
We are an awesome group of webmasters!

either direct to me or to the list.
Thank you.

PS:
Any word yet on when the USGenWeb is going to fix the redirect to your new
site?
