I was just surfing and found a group of family photos being sold on an
online auction today.
I regularly have a look as I have found some of my ancestors stuff in
the civil war auctions.
There are 36 images of the Brown family of Warren Ohio.
from the article: This is a collection of 30 cdvs, as taken from a
tattered album presumed to belong to the Brown family of Warren, Ohio.
About half of the images contain backmarks for Warren, OH photographers,
including Terrill&Dodd, F. L. Le Roy, L. M. Rice, Rice&Bliss's New
England Gallery (yes, in Warren, OH), & the Potter Gallery. Also, a
patriotic backmark for N. D. Morgan of Norwich, Connecticut. Also
included, a carte'-sized insert giving Directions for Inserting the
Pictures, including a suggestion to have the photographer "mount the
copies on thin cards."
20 of the images date from the Civil War and late 1860s and six of those
bear 2c orange Bankcheck stamps. The other 10 cards date from the 70s & 80s.
Id'd cards include Lucius Brown,, E. A. Brown, A. W. Brown, Lucetta
Brown, A. H. Waterman, Ella Case, Emma Love, & Lucey Mason.
Most of the cards are in excellent condition as shown. A few have
typical minor wrinkles and/or light grime.
it is under Ohio civil war and then partially down the first page.
It would be wonderful if they could be saved for descendants of this family.
