The USGenWeb 2001 Election is drawing to a close and the Election
Committee would like to let everyone know the schedule for announcing
the results of the election and to also explain the procedure for a
Run-Off should one be necessary.
The polls will close at midnight (PDT) July 31, 2001
Unless something beyond the control of Larry Stephens occurs - The votes
will be tallied and the results sent to the EC for review and final
approval during the day of August 1, 2001
During the early evening of August 1st the EC will send the results of
the Election to the AB and to each candidate notifying them of the
results of their own race.
An hour or so later the results of the election will be posted on the
STATE-COORD-L, ALL and USGW-CC-L lists; an e-mail announcement will be
sent to all volunteers via the EC Announcement Only list and the full
election results will be up on the EC's web site.

According to the Project's By-Laws: (Article VII: Section 4) A majority
of those members voting shall elect.
Should it become necessary to hold a run-off election for any seat the
following will be the procedures.
Run-off Election will begin Fri. Aug 3 at 12 noon CDT (10 am PDT)
Run-off Election will end Mon. Aug 13 at 2 am CDT (12 am PDT)
The same password used in the regular election will be used in the
Runoff Election.
The same voting booth will be used
Voting procedures will be the same as they were in the regular election.
Eligibility to vote in the run-off election will be the same as for the
regular election.
The results of the run-off will handled in the same manner as the
regular election (above).
