After looking at the site, I sent some comments to the OGS Cemetery Chair,
most of them negative. The OGS is aware of the site, and part of the reply
to my comments was, "You get the picture."

I can tell you that I myself joined the ohcps you speak of.
I sent a one year $20 membership dues check.
I NEVER heard from them the whole year.
Even now their website mentions their next meeting in Jan 16... (no year
mentioned)
so what does that tell me?
Something is NOT quite right there....

Subject: [OHGW] Cemetery Preservation
I stumbled in this URL
http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohcps/
and passed it along to my county list. That List Group has an annual
festival in the counthy seat and is planning to discuss the topic of the
condition of many of the local cemeteries and what to do about them.
However, when I and another tried to contact the people supposedly
sponsoring that site/group, we never got any response. I tried to give
them
the information about my county's cemeteries (we already have a
list with
location information on line) and the other person was trying to ask about
a
speaker or restoration information.
Does anyone know if this organization (which solicits funds) has folded or
has no one "minding" the store at the present. It seems a great idea to
have a state-wide clearinghouse concerning Ohio Cemeteries and how to
preserve them, but I don't want to send people to a defunct group.
Is anyone else involved with them??
