Alice,
Thank you for the comments. Your interpretation is similar to mine. If this
is an accept or reject action, I urge you to vote NO for the following
reasons:
1. The maximum time for posting a motion should not be left to the
judgement of the NC. The NC will always be open to criticism with an
open-ended posting period, and we should attempt to avoid criticism.
2. The period for response, likewise, should definitely be established as a
given number of 24-hour periods, not business days. A motion posted on a
Saturday receives 6-7 days for review, whereas one posted on a Monday could
receive only 5 days for review, depending on the whim of the NC.
Nit-picking? Yes, but again we should avoid the possibility of criticism,
if possible.
Thanks, Alice for your service.

AmendmentProposal]
Don,
I'll try to answer your questions, but keep in mind I'm new to the AB and
am learning all this stuff, too.
First, it is a minimum of 3 days for the motion to be posted. If
discussion is still on-going at the end of three days, any good NC would
let it continue, IMHO. If discussion has died down by that time, or for
that matter whenever it DOES die down, that to me would signify that
everyone who wants to, has spoken their minds and it's okay to proceed to
the next step. I believe the NC determines this.
Although it says "five business days," usually that means you get an extra
day or two to vote as well, since the election site wouldn't close down
for the weekend. If you vote on Saturday or Sunday, your vote will still
count.
I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone with an opinion on this
ammendment. Ohio CC's seem to be silent on this proposal, and I'd really
like my vote, when it comes time to vote, to reflect the wishes of Ohio
CC's as well.
