Sandy,
Glad to see all the links working. There are some problems, and I know I
am getting in this a little late, but it is what I am seeing as of this
point and time.
First, there is a link missing to one of our special projects. That is
Ohio Past and Present Locations. They are part of OHGenWeb and should be
included. Their url is:
http://www.geocities.com/ohioplaces/
I have viewed the pages using Netscape 8.0 in both Firefox mode and IE
mode. They are different. Everything seems to work find in Firefox but
when switching to IE mode, the image of Brandywine Falls is not there
and neither is the OHGenWeb logo or USGenWeb logo. The graphics on the
bottom are also missing.
This only happens once as if I reload the page they appear. Also while
they are missing, if you cursor over them they appear.
This seems to possibly be a bug in Netscape so I wouldn't worry about it
too much but if someone mentions it, you know what the cure is. using IE
6.x the pages works fine.
There are a few minor glitches on the main page. One, it is not
compliant with HTML 4.0 Strict. With a few minor changes it is compliant
with the Transitional though.
First add this to the top of the page in place of what is already there:
<!doctype html public '-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN'
<html>
<head><title>OHGenWeb</title>
Next in the line that starts with
<meta tag="OHGenWeb" content=....
replace that with:
<meta name="keywords" content=....
Lastly replace the line
<p>This site is best viewed on an 800 X 600 screen display setting.
with
<p>This site is best viewed on an 800 X 600 screen display setting.</p>
At that point your page will be 100% compliant with transitional XMl and
you can put their logo on your page to prove it.
If you want to check out the validate and chack all your pages, go to:
http://validator.w3.org/
Thus is a big help in solving some bugs that would otherwise be
overlooked. I didn't look over your other pages btu you might want to
use the validate on them as well. You can use it before or after you
upload the pages. I tend to try it before as it's better to catch those
bugs before releasing it to the public.
I also have Netscape 7.x on my machines and I get a blank page with a
light tan bar at the top and at the bottom, the copy right and test
about the image is all jumbled together. There is no chance to see a
link allowing a person using this browser to view a previous version
although if I hard code index2.html in the url I can see that page.
The fix in my opinion is to put the option of using the other page
outside of the <div></div> tags. That is what is not allowing your link
to appear. If you put it at the bottom, it is going to be part of the
jumbled text and won't be visible. Instead try this:
<body>
<small><p>Click <a
href="http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohgenweb/index2.htm">here<... if you
have
problems viewing this page</p></small>
Any browser having a problem with the <div></div> tags will show that at
the top of the page. It is a slight inconvenience to make sure everyone
can see your efforts.
Other than that, good job!

OHGenWeb now has a design of its own and a fresh look.
For those who can't see it and only see text, there is a link on the
page to the old version which I will keep online.
You should not have to change any links for this new design as it
implemented all the previous links.
It is more organized and hopefully easier for researchers to navigate.
It is very quick to load only 5 kb's.
I do intend on making a new CC page without tables so that it can be
accessible to handicapped users as their programs do not handle tables
and I wish to remove them from that page. It will keep the same URL so
it should not be much of a concern.
I checked the pages in IE 5 and they look fine.
