Sheila,
I can really commiserate with you.
The no right click is so easy to get around it is almost worthless. All someone has to do
is left click, hold, and and drag the image to their desktop.
Since you know Flash well enough to to make a Flash slideshow, that may be your only
solution. Watermarks help, but if someone is really determined, and they have a reasonably
good photo editing image, they can remove even the most complicated of watermarks.
What a royal pain in the a**!
This is starting me to think that maybe I need to be more careful with the images I add to
my sites as well. Groups for counties and even states are popping up all over Facebook,
and most people do not understand the concept of stealing info on the web. If it is there,
then it is free to take and use! Not always, folks. Sigh,
Pauli

Hello fellow coordinators,
Update: I have heard back from facebook. They wanted to know if I own the
images or if I was speaking for the owners. The ones I reported(you have to
list each image and its web address and there were so many, I choose several
that were my own, to get the point across) were the ones that I own so I was
able to tell them yes. I also told them the maps were considered mine since
I am the coordinator for the Coshocton Ohio OHGW site and they were donate
to the site and I am the caretaker of them.
I have not heard further and in the meantime there is another person, a
Linda Helmick-Hepner, again no contact, lifting them and putting them on
that facebook page. Several have gone up since I sent the form to facebook.
So I hunted her up online, and found an email and politely asked her please
stop lifting the images off the OHGW site and posting them to facebook
servers and consider instead providing a link to the page the image is on.
So far nothing has changed. I also added a no right click to the header of
all my sites. I did not want to have to do that because I do allow relatives
and researchers to take images, especially when they happen to be one of
their relatives or friends, or they need a map to find something. But I put
it on. And she got around it.
I am about ready to stop doing all this genealogy work.
There is nothing more I can do. I use Photoshop CS5 all the time and
Lightroom 3 so I can watermark and embed and do all that, but ...
In the meantime I added a cemetery slide show ----in flash!
