Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Trying to catch up after 4 days w/o electricity, then 2 more w/o internet (a line inside).
Cincinnati & surrounding areas were hit hard by Sunday's wind. Over 1 million without power. Still
today 31,000 w/o power, some my neighbors with trees or poles down.
I spent my daylight hours (and a few by flashlight) reading a book rec'd last week from Amazon.com
"The Price of Nationhood, The American Revolution in Charles County" (MD) where my Carrico ancestors
supposedly hail from. Great book on the period, even if no connections to MD!
Will probably take a bit to catch up on everything, not just the yard cleanup, e-mails etc. after
Sunday, but spent the month preceding IKE's wrath helping my son find a home to buy, and all that
goes with moving from one place to another. Currently working on getting the pool cleaned of
branches & leaves so we can contemplate closeing for the winter. Still have a big freezer to
catalogue the waste, not to mention everything I haven't done the past month that I couldn't do this
past week w/o electric (as bored as I was :-))
Hope all is well with everyone, a taste of what our ancestors had to deal with on a daily basis I
guess, we just weren't prepared!!!

Wow!! Great site Sheila. I plan on adding links to Auglaize and Shelby

I haven't heard from Amanda Heavener since I gave her the login information
for Monroe County, and there have been no changes to the site. E-mails to
her requesting a response go unanswered. It has been 3 months - that is
sufficient time to respond.
Consider this last call for Amanda.

They're saying it could be the weekend before everyone has power.
Tonight's trash night, so I'll be filling my cans with a refrigerator full
of spoiled food.
Events like this make you realize how much you take so many things for
granted. It may be quite some time before I grumble while writing out the
check for the electric bill.

We lost power about 5:30 last night - and are still out. Of course everyone
around us has their power restored already - but our little street remains
in the dark! I finally broke down and used our dial-up connection to check
e-mail.
A couple of years ago during the ice storm, our power was down for 4+ days,
we got it back for 3 days, and then lost it again for an additional 4 days.
It was finally restored on Christmas Eve at 9:00 p.m. During that outage
there was a foot of snow on the ground and the temps were below zero. At least
during this one we won't have to worry about freezing to death!

Everyone,
The recent storms that blasted Ohio have left me without electricity, and
it may be the weekend before it is restored.
I have set up temporary shop at a local coffee shop using their wi-fi.
I will therefore be a bit slow in responding to e-mail requests.

Hello, everyone.
Gloomy day today - good day to stay at the computer.
USGenWeb bylaws state that each State project shall have an Assistant State
Coordinator who shall act as State Coordinator should the SC be unable to
fulfill his duties for 30 days. With my wife's health problems, there may
be instances where I might not be available.
We have no procedure for filling the position of ASC, so I have asked Joan
Asche to do so, and she has accepted.
Thanks, Joan.
