Hi I was forwarding this to my lists as this is really frustrating some of my way distant relatives as we can't find the answer to the Eli, H eli Skinner questions. Hoped someone out in my groups could help or know something. Perry county is near Coshocton, Athens, Hocking, Morgan, Licking, Washington and other counties and we were hoping for some new info. Thanks everyone! Sheila, thank you as we thought they came from Turkeyfoot PA in a huge migration around 1800.

*/Hi everyone,/*

researched the Skinner family for so many years but still cannot come up
with the needed proof. I'm therefore turning to all of you to see if
you might have something that will turn the tide./*

*/Our g grandfather was Richard Skinner who married Amy Stith Powell.
That we are totally sure of.....but next comes Eli Skinner and a few
years ago some information was found that led us to believe that Eli's
first name was Henry and we felt he was the son of John Salathiel
Skinner. Eli was married to Emmeline Allen. The problem is, we have
never found a birth or death certificate for Eli or Henry Eli Skinner.
We do have a marriage certificate for Emmeline and Eli but also know
that she remarried to Reuben Spurgeon in 1849. We don't know if Eli
died or if he just left and went somewhere else. We need proof. And,
we have no proof that he was the son of John Salathiel Skinner. John
and Catherine (?) were married and had Susannah, John, Simeon, Jacob,
Mary, Nathaniel, Mathilda, Lydia, Salathiel, Elsie Dana, and Abia
Albion and we think Eli. But the name is never confirmed in any
census. Then there is the question of Catherine..... Catherine WHO. We
thought it was Strait, but no proof, then we questioned Rush and other
names but nothing for sure. What we are looking for is proof to put
this family together finally with no doubts. Any ideas anyone?/*
