Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I just checked the URL's listed. All of them gave a
message of "connection with the server could not be
established."
It seems to be an incomplete URL, but maybe it's just me.

Howdy All:
Washington County OHGenWeb's site is in need of a county coordinator.
If someone would be interested in being the CC for Washington, please
take a look at the County Adoption Standards and Responsibilities at
the OHGenWeb State site:
...and after reviewing that material, contact either myself or Judy
Kelble, OHGW ASC <jkelble(a)accnorwalk.com>, to express your interest.
This county site is in need of immediate query development. The tools
are currently in place to make this situation extremely easy, and
Judy and I are willing to assist in making both the transition and the
site upgrading happen smoothly.
This is a high-traffic site (or at least has been so in the past) and
could potentially require a miminum of one hour per week dealing with
the incoming queries/surnames from Washington County researchers.
(Gee, that's not a lot of time at all, is it? <grin>) Other site
maintenance will be at the discretion of the new County Coordinator;
however, the potential for implementing resources for Washington Co's
genealogists is high. Patty Lindsay's Query Express system is in
place as the query processing system d'jour - a very user-friendly
system which has worked well in the past, and should continue to serve
well into the future.
Since there are currently no potential coordinators listed at the
OHGW state site's "Pool of Potential County Coordinators" page
[ http://www.scioto.org/OHGenWeb/potential-hosts.html ], the call is
going out locally for a coordinator, and if none come forward with
an interest, the call will go out to a larger audience.
Call for email from interested candidates will conclude at 6 pm EDT,
Thursday, 20 May 1999. In your correspondence, please explain your
interest in Washington County, your current HTML skill level, and
why you feel you would be a good host for this county site. While it
is not required, some familial connections to Washington County would
be a plus.
SEND YOUR
EMAIL TO: Allen Richmond, OHGW SC - sciototrails(a)usa.net
Judy Kelble, OHGW ASC - jkelble(a)accnorwalk.com
Thanks for your time! We look forward to announcing the new
Washington County OHGW Coordinator very soon.

Hello All,
I just wanted to let you know that even thought I could not be there last
night due to the storm that went through Trumbull County and knocked out my
link to most of the net last nigh. I did get Lynn Waterman to serve as my
proxy. She logged the Chat Session and I have it uploaded to the new Chat
site at:

</A>
you will need to pick May from the list of months on the left and then find
the chat for last night. I found it very interesting reading <G>
We didn't get through very many of the Counties last night but it sure was a
good chat.
Thank you for your time.

Howdy Peggy:
You can find the Research Exchange program at the OHGW state site, and
Judy Kelble, OHGW ASC, is coordinating the researchers who are
offering time, both from Ohio and for Ohio materials.
Thanks!

Tuscarawas County, OHGenWeb Coordinator
Hello All, I am having problems getting through to rootsweb this evening. I
am actually having problems getting much off the web tonight. We had a storm
come through Trumbull County and cause some problems. I suspect it is the
local connection that is giving me problems.
I am still trying to make it on, but may not make it to the chat.
will keep trying.
Mary Ann
I am looking for sign of Civil War Colored Troops occupation in Ohio.
Need Help.
If you can help please contact me at: ladyd(a)dnaco.net
Thank You and God Bless,
Sandy
Being that I'm on the west coast, it's hard for me to do the chat at the
time it's set for. I doubt that I'll make it, unless it's somewhat later
(7:30 pdt) or after.
I don't have much in the way of history for either of my counties, I don't
think. I will check around.

Mary Ann - will try to get there NEXT week. Not sure what I will say about
Preble Co. (my information is how my own family must have seen the area - my
many-great uncle's was the first marriage in the record books for Preble).

Hello All,
Just a reminder that if you can't make it to the chat I would still like to
see all the counties represented. If you are unable to attend or would like
to have me present your county for you, just email me and let me know. I have
received some all ready.
Also, don't forget that the chat is tomorrow on irc.rootsweb.com in #OHIO,
at 9:00 PM EDT.
So if you would like to attend this session and have not been to one of the
chats before, you can check out the new chat pages, at <a
href="http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohmahoni/chat/">http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohmaho
ni/chat/
</a>. This has all the information on how to join the chats. I have also set
up chat calendars with future chat topics, and links to the logs on line from
the past sessions. Check it out!
If you need more help getting to the chat just email me at:
