Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Peace, Judy
As an additional note, if you want to go directly to the search page for
your site, you can by placing "?list=ohxxxxxx" at the end of the URL.
The xxxxxx is the first six letters of your county name.
For instance, to go straight to the Hocking County page, the URL would
be:
http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl?list=ohhockin

Hi All,
Ohio is part of the Northeast/North Central Region. This includes the

Judy and All,
If you have a mailing list on Rootsweb there is already a search engine in
place, go to:
http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl
Just type in the mailing list you want, then you type your search.

Hi All,
The results of the voting on requirement changes is in. We only had 75%
of the counties voting which is sad, but maybe to be expected at this time
of year. They could have made a difference.
The complete results can be found at
http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohgenweb/vote.htm. The end result is that we will
not be changing the requirements at this time.
I have put the link to this page in the "About OHGenWeb Project" page. I
didn't want to make it real obvious for the casual wanderer, but I did want
to make it available to all the CC's. All future voting results will be
posted on this page. This way we can keep track of what has already been
voted upon and when.
I want to thank the 66 out of 88 counties that cared enough to do your
part and voted.

You're right this is cool.

Yes, but it is not affiliated with USGW. It is totally independent and
Scott, Pam nor I have no connection, other than being subscribed to it.

I think the posts are archived, but doubt they have a search engine. It is
not through RootsWeb. <coshoctonco(a)onelist.com>

I think it would be of great benefit to the researchers.
Speaking only for myself and not Pam or Scott,

Hi All,
I know you are all busy with the holidays, but I've got a few minutes of
spare time...
Lousiana has a search engine that will search every county maillist
archive in the state. It is rather cool. Check it out.
http://www.rootsweb.com/~lagenweb/lalists.htm. Several states are doing
this and I would like to see something like it in Ohio.
I know that we do not want to duplicate what every county is already
doing, but I'm not sure that enough counties have their own search engines
that this would pose a problem.
Before I ask for a volunteer to create/handle this page I want to know
that there is an interest. Please take a moment (after the holidays is
fine) and let me know what you think.

Hi All,
The votes are all in. We will be hearing from the vote counters very
soon. I will be posting the results as soon as I get them.
I will also be making a new page for OHGenWeb that will keep track of
what we have voted on, when we voted and what the outcome was.
Peace, Judy
Hello all - please don't flood the list. :)

Has anyone any information on contacting Stacy Whitney (or her sister
Karen Thompson)? We desperately need to get ahold of her - the fate
of the QueryExpress system depends on it. We are having to move
Surname Helper, GenConnect and QueryExpress to a bigger box at
Rootsweb - and want to do so before the Christmas rush. We need Stacy
to move QueryExpress to the new machine - so please let me know if
you have any clues about how I can get ahold of her (eg her husband's
name, where she lives (I thought Lancaster, but don't find a Whitney
listing).

Hi,
I hope not. I have posted items that our local chapter has for sale. The
chapter appreciates the support and researchers seem to like knowing
what is available for sale. I also post "free" info and have a
"lookups" page.
