I was really surprised and pleased that so many people were interested in my
2007-2011 copies of the Arcade Herald's obituaries and Remember When.
column by Jeff Mason. It has been a hard decision but I have decided to give
them to the Sheldon Historical Society. That way they will eventually be
available to the public.

Dear List, Included with the 1875 New York State Censuses are Lists of Deaths and Marriages, which occured "during the year ending June 1, 1875". The List for Wethersfield (the only township in my possession) includes 31 deaths and 11 marriages, which I am copying below. Unfortunately, the precise YEAR is not given.
Patricia, I haven’t tried to analyze the dates against the information given, but the form given as “during the year ending June 1, 1875” MIGHT suggest something in the nature of a fiscal year, and mean the data covers the period of June 1, 1874 – May 31, 1875 (or perhaps June 2, 1874 – June 1, 1875). This MIGHT be a guess at how the months given in the census fall, if months throughout the year are covered.
Dear List, Regarding the email just sent with the lists of names for deaths and marriages in Wethersfield Township per 1875 NY State Census, this formatting is not mine! I had the names and data listed line by line. Any questions in reading, please email me: p_tharp(a)hotmail.com Sincerely, Patricia Boddy Tharp

Take note, the year could be 1874 OR 1875. Perhaps, a tombstone inscription, obituary, or other record will clarify the year for you. If known from my own research, I've so indicated with brackets [ ]. Some of the ink is quite faint and hard to read. I'll be happy to email you a scanned copy, if you email me p_tharp(a)hotmail.com Note there is an underscore between p_tharp. DEATHS in Wethersfield Twp. Several years ago I would send a weekly summary of the obituaries and Jeff
Mason's Remember When... column to this listserv. I got busy with other
things but I have continued saving the obituaries and Remember When... I
had hoped to catch up but now realize that I will never get back to this
Is anyone interested in having these items from the Arcade Herald? If you
are, I can bundle them up and mail them to you. If not they will go into the
recycle bin. Let me know SOON.
