Use the census search tool provided by stevemorse.org
At the top of the page choose the "1920" census search. Then enter
for a partial name search; then select under "Geographic Region, State "New
York" and County "Richmond." You will find that according to
, in the 1920 Census there were 60 people living in Staten
Island with the name "Myrtle" or "Myrtel."
Assuming you don't have an account with ancestry.com
you can then look up
that person in the 1920 Census for FREE using familysearch.org
search page can be found here:
I would also try other spellings for Myrtle as some census takers were poor
You can then repeat these steps and search the 1930 and 1910 censuses.

I am looking for information on Myrtle Kendell. I believe she is my Great
Grandmother. She would have lived in SI around 1918 - the early 1920's. I
believe she was married with two small children, though I do not know her
husband's name although it may well have been Kendell. She may also have
originally been born in France. My grandmother's name was Dorothea
Breitenbach Smith. She was born in Brooklyn in 1913 and lived in Greenpoint,
Brooklyn before moving to Richmond Hill, Queens.
