The only zoo I know of on the island is the Staten Island zoo off Cove Rd.
and I haven't heard of Wolf Pond park.

Subject: [NYRichmo] THE PAST KEEPS INTRUDING
Good morning Staten Isle listers,
Woke up this morning with a case of nostalgia., and it's all your fault
Here I was doing my genealogical work and making slow slow progress on a
father that just refuses to be found. (He's laughing his Nordic self off).
get to see a a note from a gal looking for a map of the Island.
One thing leads to another, a few questions here and there and I am smack
bang into the past, growing up in S.I. I trotted out the site about
New York" sent the url on to the "map lady" and just
wallowed in my
kick started by a few more messages to the list.
Gotta give credit to our list owner, he/ she has been mighty patient with
no little reminders that this list is just for genealogy.
When you come right down to it ,
nostallgia and speaking of the past can really get you into the mode of.
"Hey!, Whatever happened to Aunt Sally and Cousin Jean???"
Then the mind trips you up and you start to wonder.....I really should
Grandma and ask her some questions before the "Old Timers
This is the beginning of the "Genie Bug" diggin in the past for the stuff
that our familes did. the marriages, the births & deaths, divorces,
It's all out there and we get to collect it piece by piece, question by
question. And where to go,?...... we have the list, with an assortment of
great peoples that help you,.....all you have to do is ask.
So....from a simple question about a map......we start to come together, a
little Island history, some "Do you remember this street, town, event",
juices start flowing and we become connected again.
Ain't nuthin like a trip down "Memory Lane" and I for one give thanks to
listowner for letting us take it.
Now if anyone can still read, I have a question. I go back to the cemetery
where my Mother is, maybe twice a year, do the cleanup, etc. and hurry
home. Trip down takes a little over an hour.
Want to take my grandchildren to see bits and pieces of the Island,
I don't know if the places I remembered are still the
"Nice" places they
Wolfes Pond Park........Barrett Park Zoo Anyone care to
Regards to all you
