My GGrandfather was a member of the R.G.Shaw, GAR Post 112 on S.I. In a 1924 list of
members my ggrandfather, John Bostrom was mentioned as a member and held the office of
Senior Vice Commander. I first learned that he had served in the Civil War when his
daughter died in 1936 and it was mentioned in her obituary. It said he had predeceased
her. He was living with his daughter in the 1930 census. So he died sometime between 1930
and 1936. Betsy Lavelle had posted this information about the list of members..
I haven't been able to find my grandfather in any of the Civil War lists. It is
possible that his name was written as John Boston. One of the census had it spelled that
way. Does anyone have any more information that would help me.
