There is a branch of BUTLERs that I researched
who immigrated from Ireland and lived first in Westchester County NY,
Verplanck, NY to be specific, then migrated to Staten Island.
[St. Patrick's RC Church, Verplanck, now defunct about 2 months.]
There were brickyards along the Hudson River,
just north of NYC, that employed predominantly
Irish immigrants. BUTLERs began in U.S. here then moved
south to Queens Co NYC and Staten Island NYC.
You may want to search for your BUTLERs up
there post famine era.
