For what it's worth, Pelletreau (p. 741) does not mention a Clark Craft in this
Howard E. Craft was b. in Carmel in 1844, was educated at the public school, Drewville
Institute and Reed's Arcadian high School, and has followed the business of teacher
and merchant. He was m. to Sarah O. Smith of Carmel in 1875. His father, grandfather and
gr-grandfather, named respectively,William D., Stephen, David, and also his
great-great-grandfather, were residents of this county and descendants from the Pilgrims.
The post office at Craft's was named after the family.
