I'm researching my Lansing Van Renssalaer KENYON, born June 25, 1827, at
Kenyonville, and married, May 15, 1850, Sarah Jane THOMAS, born September 4,
1831, died January 20, 1861 - probably during childbirth. She is buried
with an infant in the Kenyonville Cemetery. Lansing died in Michigan.
I have found a Sarah THOMAS, 19 (right age for birth date) in the 1850 Yates
County Federal Census. She is enumerated with William Thomas, 33, head;
Marilla, 30, Charles Thomas, 38, Joseph Thomas, 39, and Sarah Thomas, 19.
Sarah and Marilla are born in NY, all Thomas men born in PA. I have found
William, Marilla and Joseph buried in Kenyonville - where Sarah Jane is
buried and a Kenyon enclave.
Does anyone have any connections for this or any other Sarah Jane THOMAS?
The head of household, William, being 33, is not parent material for my
Sarah. Either of the other males could be a father to Sarah. Or all are
siblings? Maybe not with her born in NY, others in PA.
Lansing's parents, Barber and Lydia KENYON spent most of their life in
Orleans County, but left about 1856 and both died a few days apart in 1857.
I haven't found their death records or graves anywhere. Any input?
I appreciate any help available.
