It seems odd, and is very frustrating, that with all of the material in
Delaware Co. there is nothing which lists children with their parents in
1826-1830. While I have the 1830 Census for Andes, there are no names
for the children.
Cornelius Bassett, is prominent in the early establishment of Andes. He
served as clerk, supervisor, and in the State Assembly 1838, and taught
school. Yet I can't find anything which names his children, expecially a
Another problem is that there are at least 2 other Cornelius Bassetts,
on with the middle initial B. who do have records, but they are not the
person I am seeking.
I had hoped there would be some type of campaign, messages when he was
running for Assembly., Maybe they didn't do that back then.
I am frustrated. I do have two documents, one a set of research notes
from 1900 and a letter written in 1928 which does connect the children
I am trying to prove that he had a daughter Joanna b abt 1826. I have
all of the documents for her except this one. When I find it my line
will go back to the Mayflower and the Fortune. There must be one
comment on one page in one book on one shelf in one library, somewhere.
Hopefully I will find. it.
I dont know where Cornelius died, thought to be in Westchester Co.
NY---- no docs from there yet, or Ogle Co. Ill, and again nothing.
Thanks for letting me outling this, and express my frustration.
