I believe that Almeda, New York became South Kortright, New York.
In an old book called Spaulding's Business Directory of Delaware County
1896, I show a listing for The Orr Hardware, selling hardware,
agricultural implements, etc. and being the Postoffice.
Also show these other business there: Almeda Creamery, L.H. Elmendorf -
flour grain and feed and agent for American Express Co., E.A.
Kingsley-general store, Don McPherson-blacksmith shop, E.W.
McPherson-carpenter and builder, W.S.Nesbitt-carpenter and builder, E.H.
Rose-dealer in agricultural implements, Hugh Rose-Cooper shop, and Ryder
House-A.T.Ryter, prop.-Newly built- First Class Accommodations,
Telephone and Telegraph station. Livery attached.
