Mysterious John & Louise Watson
I think I have been able to get a lead on my John Watson of Brooklyn. I believe his
father was John Watson who was baptized in 1844 at the Mariners church in Brooklyn. His
parents were John Watson and Malenia Eliza. John Watson married Jane McVee born 1845 in
Scotland. They had three sons William 1868, John 1869 and George 1871. I have been able
to find some of Janes sisters and brothers. One sister married a Wallwork. I still
cannot find my grandfather John Watson between 1889 and 1911. This is the time that he
and Louise traveled to possibly Orange and Sullivan County eventually coming to Delhi. He
is missing again from 1918 and when he died. I found that some of her family went to
Centerville in Sullivan County to a hotel there owned by David Robinson. He advertised
the Rose Cottage Farm in the Brooklyn Eagle paper.
I am hoping that someone may recognize the surnames of Jane Mc Vee Watson or her sister
Elizabeth. Elizabeth married Thomas Henry Wallwork.
