Hello All ...
I'm probably breaking my own rules for posting this to the Delaware
List, but I thought this message about the DNA project from Carolyn
Stinson Nichols was very interesting:
NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC has a project called the GENOGRAPHIC PROJECT to
collect DNA samples of 100,000 people around the globe which will form
an anthropological genetic database to study the origins and migration
of man. YOU CAN PARTICIPATE. By participating and giving them a sample
of your DNA you will receive a report of your deep geneological roots.
That is, where your ancestors came from. It will not give you results
of your immediate family, but if you are curious of the origins of your
family from way, way back in history this should be fascinating.
Their purpose is to learn more about who we are, where we came from and
how we relate as members of one extended family. If you are interested
in participating, go to:
There is a fee for participating because you have to order a kit to
collect your DNA and help with the cost of this gigantic project. The
total was $107.50.
This is not an ad. I am participating and thought some of the
interested geneaolgists in the Delaware County History group might also
be interested, so I am just passing this information along.
