Joyce and all of our readers,
It was fun to read of many of the fine folks who have a link to Delaware
County. Let me also add we not only love you Joyce but you have done a
terrific job at putting history online. One only has to try to open some
other site and know they will be disappointed.
One of the other readers mentioned a new area to store the genealogy of the
old folks, those who were pioneers to the county. I not only second the
motion (sorry, I forgot who it ) but this is something I tried to get going
several years ago. Of course I am now without a program to keep the
family, but the problem will go away in a very short time.
With a new paragraph, please let me try to influence all of you to start
and contribute to this project. We have a fully rounded website many would
kill for and this would just add icing to the cake.
Also I keep looking for info on a bunch of folks and with the new additions
and my further afield projects, I find more all the time. Another
Huzzah....., here is a history tidbit, this is what they said in
Revolutionary times instead of Hip Hip Hurray!
Lastly, one Ray Lafever the great historian of Bovina is/has been making a
listing of the Civil War soldiers of all the towns. I was able based on
research on this site to add to his list to make it more complete. His
list is on the DCHA-NY.Org
, the Delaware County Historical Assn. if someone
is interested. So many thanks from all the veterans of Delaware County
based on the counting of so many of their comrades.
