I should have double-checked this before sending it earlier today.
I added new notes to the bottom.
Happy New Year!
A few months ago, I was corresponding with someone - on the list -
who was looking for information about Catherine Rosa Wood.
It's odd that she is noted as "Mrs. Catherine Rosa", but I believe that
these three entries are all the same person.
This information was sent to me by my "Secret Santa"!
>...."Rosa - Mrs. Catharine Rosa, born in Plattekill, Ulster Co., Sept. 18,
>1801. Moved to Walton in 1839, where she still resides."
>8 Feb. 1896
>Died, "Wednesday", Mrs. Catherine Rosa, mother of Stephen and
>Jacob Wood, aged 95 y. 5 m. Burial was in Griswold Cemetery,
>near Colchester Station. [Item by Pinesville Corr., pg. 1]
>16 Jan. 1897
>Deaths in Walton during 1896:
> 5 Feb. Catherine Rosa, aged 95 y.
>These entries are from a compilation done by Victor Goodrich entitled
>"Any News From Walton?" He extracted family/historical information
>from the various Walton newspapers of the time. The date you see is the
>newspaper issue date. Note: The dates are not in chronological order
>and any info contained within brackets [ ] is info that Mr. Goodrich
>has added himself.
This needs to be verified!
- I think her name is Catherine (maiden name) Wood Rosa.
- Her first husband's name is probably Benjamin Wood.
- Her second husband's name is James Rosa.
(There is a Catherine Rosa -2nd wife of James - buried in the Rosa
Cemetery who died on the same day as the Catherine listed above.
But, the posting says that she died at the age of 92 which puts her
birth year at 1804.)
