There is a town of Kittanning in Armstrong County, western Pennsylvania,
situated on the Allegheny river about 40 - 50 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.
This is the only town I find in PA, NY or NJ with a spelling similar to your
posting. Also, the only one in the ZIP Code Book for those states.
Just thought you'd like to know that inside the cover of an old
Yeaple/Yaple family Bible, one of the names--and we don't know what the
connection is, (although probably a husband to either Rachel or
Elizabeth An Yaple), is written "Jost Jackson." Unfortunately no dates
or other info. My branch of the family (Yeaple) is primarily in Ulster
County, NY--but a larger group--many of the other brothers and sisters
of my ancestor Adam-- are all from the Pakatakan, Arkville, Middletown
areas of Delaware, and they used the spelling, Yaple.
We've talked before about some other connections--so it is possible this
is another one. If this is of any help--or if you have any dates or
light to shed on our mystery man--we'd love to hear about it.

I am sending this to several mail lists which I am on to help those who have
AOL 6.0 and are getting messages bounced by Rootsweb. I've been frustrated
since Rootsweb's servers were upgraded a few weeks ago and have been unable
to post on a mail list (occasionally one would get through). I corresponded
with Rootsweb yesterday, and below is their very helpful answer. AOL 6.0 has
been putting our mail text into html coding, so It requires us to do two
additional steps before sending to a Rootsweb list. It only takes five
seconds. Hope this helps all of us frustrated AOL members. A copy of what I
received is below my name.
Hi, Ruth. The message you posted to the HelpDesk does contain some HTML
coding; this is a common problem with AOL 6.0. We've had AOL members give
us two approaches which might work for you:
AOL 6 -- plain text
1) Compose your email as normal in AOL 6.
2) Right click the text scroll box.
3) Select Select All.
4) Right click text again and select text Normal.
5) Send the email.
And: AOL says that 6.0 users with plain-text problems should use the following
alternatives to send plain text only:
1. When authoring mail in AOL 6.0 remove all formatting from the message
body and send the message in the AOL 6.0 default of Arial, size 10 - do
not include any bold, italics, underline, colors, or other styles.
2. Use AOL Mail on the Web (at http://www.aol.com) to send mail - AOL Mail
on the Web sends mail as plain text only.
We've also seen some problems with 6.0 users where cutting and pasting
has resulted in backgrounds unknowingly being picked up and resulting in
total gibberish. To counter this problem, you can copy to Notepad, save
as text, and then copy/paste from Notepad.
Linda, I have a Esther Fish born abt. 1762 who married a William Ingraham in
Groton Ct. May 1, 1784. They lived there until abt. 1800 then they came to
N.Y. They moved alot in N.Y. Albany Co. Schoharie Co. Oneida Co. where
William died. Then Esther moved to St. Lawrence Co. back to Schoharie Co.With
one of her sons , Albany Co. another son. then to Lewis Co. where I think she

I am very interested in the Fish Family in new york and Susquehanna, Pa . My family came from Groton , New London Connecticut in 1814. They traveled by way of the connecticut trail. My great great great grandfather Anthony Fish traveled to the area in 1812 with at least one of his brothers and then returned to Brooklyn , Pa in 1814 with his wife and 5 children. The youngest a 2 year old was my great great grandfather Asa Fish. I have the Fish book and will do look ups for you .I also have all the decendants of Anthony available to you. I have a Daniel son of Captain John Fish (his home is part of Mystic seaport museum) Captain John was born in 1720 I do not have a date at this moment for Daniel but can look him up in my Fish book if you would like me to.

Just got back home a few days ago from a trip to NY and Delaware County. Visited the Middletown town clerks office and the Margaretville village clerks office for information. Both Russell Shebesta the Middletown town clerk and Betty DeSilva, Margaretville village clerk were extremely helpful. I have read some horror stories on here about some clerks and was somewhat apprehensive since this was my first visit to a town or village clerk for information, both were, as I have already mentioned very helpful and friendly, and I was able to find almost all that I was looking for. One piece of information I am still lacking at the moment is the death and burial site of my GGrandmother, Hannah (Blish) Fuller. My GGrandfather Lewis Fuller died Aug 31, 1900 and is buring in Kelly Corners cemetery, all alone. Hannah was born in July 1836 so she would have been 64 when Lewis died, I doubt she would have remarried but I guess its possible. If anyone has any information on what bec!
ame of Hannah I would appreciate it very much.
Thanks for all your help...

I am a bit disappointed, I bought Family Tree Makers Census Index #313 and I
looked up Timothy Gregory, Oliver Shaw, John Shaw, they
only tell that they are on Family Archive number so and so, Does an;yone out
there have Family Archive #238, and would be willing to
lookup a Timothy Gregory? I am looking for a birthdate, wife's name
and her birthdate. I think I spent a lot of money for nothing, I don't
understand where to go from here. Dumb question I know, but I need
some help. thanks, Sandi in Ca
Researching: Shaw, MacDonald,Brant,Robinson, Gregory,Scofield,
I have two Jenkins women...Elizabeth Robinson, daughter of Isaacher Robinson married a Nathaniel
Jenkins and they had at least one daughter, Phoebe Jenkins born 1825 in Delaware County.
I have Lavinia Jenkins born June 29, 1827 in Roxbury, Delaware Co., NY and died
Nov. 10, 1898 in Bancroft, Iowa. These dates are from the Searle Family Bible as
Lavinia Jenkins married Emerson Searle in Delaware County, NY and the later
migrated to Ogle County, Illinois and then to Bancroft, Iowa. Emerson Searle was
grandson of Boaz Searle, a doctor who is buried in Vega Cemetery in Delaware County.
Need parentage of Lavinia and any additional information on Phoebe Jenkins and/or the other
children of Elizabeth(Betsy) Robinson and Nathaniel Jenkins.
I am new to the list. I am searching the surname FISH in the Franklin/Meredith area in 1810 to 1830.
Very interested in Daniel FISH in the 1820 Census of Meredith. Who was his wife and children?
Carlos FISH in the Franklin 1820 Census also.
Would like to hear from you!
I too have a Jenkins woman that I can't seem to find parents on. Mine is an
Alice Jenkins born 1846. Not sure if she was born in Monroe or Tompkins, New
York or Patterson, New Jersey. All of the documentation I have on her sites
different places. She was married to a Henry Hart and they lived in Delaware
County and had 6 children. Elmer, Charles, Ephriam, Eva, Calvin and John.
There seems to be indication that she had a few bothers and sisters. J whom I
believe was a male, Elizabeth, Samuel, Robert, Martha, Henry and Amos. I
would like to find her parents, where they are from and as far back as I can.
I also would like to find out whatever happened to her brothers and sisters.
I cannot find any information on them. That you all for your help. This
list is the greatest! Patty Hart Cochran
